Chris Soules & Whitney Bischoff's Family Make It Sound Like a Split Is Imminent

Chris Soules Whitney Bischoff

Ugh. As much as we don't want to believe that the breakup rumors surrounding them are true, it really is starting to look more and more like Chris Soules and Whitney Bischoff are about to split, or at least they're in the process of reevaluating their relationship.

It was impossible not to notice that for the first week since the show began, Whitney was not in the audience cheering on Chris during his Dancing With the Stars performance, which raised more than a few eyebrows, given the fact that they've been attached at the hip since their engagement.

Chris let everyone know that Whit headed back to Chicago for the time being, but he also threw in a pretty strange comment as far as why she opted to leave L.A. He said:

[Whitney] actually went back to Chicago this weekend. She had some work things to get caught up on. And now [this process is] getting really intense. I'm not even existent to her, and she’s missing friends and home, so she’s going to take some time back there, and I'm sure she'll be back in the next couple weeks hopefully if I'm still here.

If those words aren't weird enough, RadarOnline spoke to Chris' grandmother, and what she had to say certainly makes it sound like Whitney is not going to be moving to the farm any time soon.

Beverly Soules admitted that she has never met Whitney and has only seen her on TV, but she also made it a point to talk up Witney Carson, Chris' partner on DWTS. She said:

The girl teaching him [to dance] is really something, too. She is talented. I think he's done really well given that he's had no [dance] experience before. He has quite improved over the weeks.

Uh, what? She thinks Witney is "really something," almost as if she's saying, "Oh well, if it doesn't work out with the first Whitney there's always the second Witney."

Radar also managed to get a comment from Marsha Mudd, Whitney's stepfather's wife, which also makes it sound like there is something fishy going on.

We watched her win his heart. It was all over the media so you kind of know what's coming. We wish Whitney all the best.

Hmm. Notice how she didn't say, "We wish Whitney and Chris all the best." Just ... Whitney, as if she's once again referring to her as a single woman.

It will be interesting to see what happens with these two over the course of the next couple of weeks, as far as whether Whitney will turn up back in L.A. and the two of them will be all googly-eyed again.

But it's pretty safe to say that exactly no one will be all that surprised if they wind up being another reality TV couple to bite the dust. Fairy tales do happen once in a while, but as far as The Bachelor is concerned, the odds are definitely stacked against them.

Do you think Whitney and Chris broke up?
