Nathan Griffith & Jenelle Evans Ordered to Couples Therapy

They may be broken up, but that won't stop Jenelle Evans and Nathan Griffith from attending couples counseling together. According to Radar Online, Nathan had his day in court on Wednesday, April 22, and the charges against him dropped with the concession that he and his baby mama attend therapy together.

Nate was arrested on March 4 for domestic violence, after allegedly pinning Jenelle to the toilet and forcibly removing her engagement ring from her finger. The couple had been engaged for less than two months at the time.

It's not clear what instigated the incident, but there have been rumors that he cheated and got mad when confronted about it. Jenelle even threw some shade at his rumored and unnamed "Christian" girlfriend this week, when she called her a home-wrecker on Facebook.

Anyway, the charges were dropped. Jenelle's lawyer, Amy Lawrence, confirmed it, saying, "all the charges against Nathan Griffith were dropped in court today."

She continued, "He and Jenelle have to go to four counseling sessions together." Before you start thinking they're back together again, Lawrence clarified, "They are not together and [remain] broken up, but the counseling sessions are to help them be better parents."

More from The Stir: Jenelle Evans Worries About Nathan Griffith's New Girlfriend Around Kaiser

Jenelle and Nate welcomed baby boy Kaiser last June, and it's unclear what their current custody situation is. They both also have one child from previous relationships.

Given that Jenelle and Nathan are both highly emotional people, I think this is a good step in the right direction for them. Like it or not, they're in each other's lives for the long haul, thanks to Kai. He deserves to have parents who can at least make nice for his sake, regardless of how they feel about each other.

Are you surprised that the charges against Nathan were dropped?
