Leah Calvert's Mom Responds to Rehab Rumors

Leah Calvert

As much as we'd hoped the rumors about them splitting up would wind up being untrue, it looks as though Jeremy Calvert has filed for divorce from Leah Calvert, while she has reportedly entered rehab to deal with her alleged addiction to prescription drugs.

Supposedly MTV was even willing to foot the bill for her stay in the hopes that she'll get the help she needs, and duh -- will return to Teen Mom 2 to continue with an even more dramatic storyline than the last season ended with. (It's all about the ratings.)

But while from everything we can tell, it does look like Leah and Jeremy are on the outs, the whole bit about her being in rehab apparently couldn't be farther from the truth.

Leah's mom took to Facebook to set the record straight, sharing the following update on Leah's official fan page:

TRUE FANS listen up. Leah is NOT going to rehab lol. This is Momma Dawn and I 100% ASSURE you that Leah is NOT going to a DRUG REHAB. Lots of LOVE to the true fans. all will come out on the upcoming show about Leah Dawn Calvert, Jeremy, Corey, Miranda, and the babies. But rest assure I HATE drugs don't want association with them and wouldn't NEVER Condone them. Love ALL have a good night Momma Dawn.

Hmm. Well okay then. Guess she cleared things up for us once and for all, huh?

More from The Stir: Leah Calvert Reportedly Dumped by Jeremy in the Worst Way

While it does seem a bit interesting that Momma Dawn was the one who posted this update as opposed to Leah, it's highly doubtful that she'd defend her daughter in such a public way if there were any shred of truth to the rehab rumors. I mean, why would she blatantly lie to Leah's fans like that?

It would only come back to haunt her (and Leah) down the road if she's being anything less than truthful, so it's probably safe to assume that Leah is simply taking a step back from the public eye as she prepares to enter the divorce process.

And though she has yet to confirm that she and Jeremy are splitting, interestingly enough, she did remove the "married to @Calvert505" from her Twitter bio, which is basically just as good as a flat out admission at this point.

But even though she's getting ready to navigate (somewhat) unfamiliar territory in her life, if what her mom says is true, it sounds like she's more than ready to handle and deal with whatever the future throws her way. As long as she keeps her head held high and remembers what is truly important in life, she just might find that being on her own again is exactly what she needs to take things in a more positive direction.

Do you believe Leah's mom?
