See 'Walking Dead' Star Norman Reedus In His Surprising 'SNL' Cameo (VIDEO)

Our favorite man with a crossbow made an unexpected visit to Saturday Night Live. Michael Keaton was the host and Carly Rae Jepsen was the  musical guest, but it was Norman Reedus aka Daryl Dixon of The Walking Dead who had the moment of all moments during "Weekend Update." Reedus was in character -- dirty, brooding Daryl -- but he shocked me a bit with how the scene played out.

Resident Young Person Pete Davidson was "stoned" and talking about the finale of The Walking Dead with Colin Jost. Pete was of course paranoid thinking that the zombie apocalypse could happen for real and that's when he gets hit with an arrow. Daryl's arrow. And just like that ... the hottest man on television appears. Hello, Norman Reedus.

It's a silly little skit about how Daryl mistook Pete for an actual walker since he's a bit pale and moves slow -- you know, because he's a stoner. Daryl also admits to slaying a zombie in the elevator. But when Pete explains that it's just some weed that's making him zombie-like, Daryl has Pete take him to the source.

It's like the lure of Terminus without Termites.

Since this is going to be the first weekend without a new dose of The Walking Dead, I'm thrilled to bits to have a glimpse of Daryl in all this Dixon-ness. I think SNL needs to get Reedus to host, not just have a shocking little cameo (in which he may or may not have admitted to smoking weed. Is that how he gets his voice so low and mumbly?). In fact, I think the hosting should be shared with Norman, Andrew Lincoln (Rick), Steven Yeun (Glenn), and Melissa McBride (Carol). How can we make that happen?

What did you think of Norman Reedus's surprise appearance on SNL?
