Catelynn Lowell Has an 'Uncomfortable' Conversation With Carly's Adoptive Parents

Teen Mom OG is just around the corner, and we can't wait to see what Catelynn Lowell, Maci Bookout, Amber Portwood, and Farrah Abraham have been up to in the two-plus years they've been off the air. Catelynn recently opened up about her relationship with Carly's adoptive parents, and admitted that at least one very uncomfortable conversation with them will appear on the show.

Catelynn and her boyfriend (now fiance) famously gave their daughter Carly to adoptive parents Brandon and Teresa Davis in their episode of Sixteen and Pregnant. They wanted a better life for their daughter when they got pregnant in high school after growing up as self-described "trailer park trash."

They opted for an open adoption, which means they get updates about Carly, and get to visit her once a year.

Of course no relationship is without its hiccups, and one this sensitive in nature is bound to have its difficult moments. In the "Getting to Know Catelynn" special on MTV last month, we got a hint of the conflict happening between the two sets of parents, regarding Carly and the publicity of Teen Mom.

It seems as though Brandon and Teresa have been unhappy about Cate and Ty sharing their daughter's photo on social media -- so much so that they're "threatening to cut off contact. According to a source, they are "not happy with Catelynn and Tyler's behavior and refusal to follow the adoption rules."

In a clip of the show, we saw Tyler lamenting their decision to keep Carly's life completely private, saying that they shouldn't have picked them if they didn't want her to ever be on camera. Of course in all fairness, they probably had no idea the Teen Mom franchise would take off the way that it did.

No word on if they'll allow Carly to be filmed or even have her picture shared on the show, but Catelynn recently revealed that Brandon and Teresa will make an appearance on the new season. She admitted that she's dreading the moment when she'll have to relive the on-camera encounter with the Davises when the show airs.

"The only thing I was scared to film was a conversation that we have with Brandon and Teresa, and it was tough to watch it, too," Cate shared.

Dang, that has got to be one tough relationship to navigate, and I can't imagine having to do it on camera. We're hoping that everything worked out for them though -- Carly is still a huge part of their life, and they treasure the contact with her.

Do you think Brandon and Teresa have a right to keep Carly's life completely private?
