Chris Soules & Whitney Bischoff's Future Plans Have Us Seriously Confused

Chris Soules Whitney Bischoff

Even though plenty of us already figured that Chris Soules was engaged to Whitney Bischoff based on how tough it was to avoid the spoilers this season, it was still pretty emotional to see him get down on one knee and propose in a barn (of all places) on the finale of The Bachelor.

Even though it almost seemed like he made up his mind about 5 seconds before Becca Tilley walked into the final rose ceremony, it was obvious for weeks that Whitney was the one who was ready to commit to starting a family and building a life with him in Iowa. Becca simply wasn't anywhere near being ready to give up everything to be pregnant and crazy domestic, which ultimately led to her demise.

But after hearing from Chris and Whitney now that their engagement is out in the open, we can't help but be a little bit confused as to what is truly going on in their relationship.

Um, as of now, Whitney has no plans to move to Arlington. Nope. The two of them are temporarily relocating to Los Angeles while Chris does Dancing With the Stars, but even so, there doesn't seem to be any indication that she'll be heading to the farm as soon as he's done in the ballroom.

More from The Stir: New Claim About Chris Soules' Final Decision Is Unsettling at Best

In fact, it sounds like they haven't even started tossing wedding plans around, which is just weird. Whitney told People:

I don't think you can put a time limit on something like that. When we feel it, it will happen.

Uhhhhhh, correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't that exact sentiment basically what got Becca kicked to the curb? It's like now that Whitney has "won" the game, she's calling all the shots and wants the relationship to progress on her terms, which may not include a simple life in Iowa after all.

And if that turns out to be the case? Yeah. We probably shouldn't get our hopes up as far as this engagement lasting longer than a couple of months goes. Let's be honest, Chris can't stay out in La-La-Land forever, and if he and Whitney find themselves smack dab in the middle of a long distance relationship once she goes back to Chicago and he's in Arlington, odds are good that he'll find himself in exactly the same boat he was in when he started the process of being The Bachelor. (Minus potentially getting laid on weekend visits.)

As of now, I just don't have a good gut feeling about these two lasting for the long haul. But hey, you never know? Maybe taking things at a slower pace will prove to be beneficial to their relationship in the long run, you know, because of the whole "absence makes the heart grow fonder" thing.

Then again, it could backfire and give Chris more sleepless nights thinking about the one he let get away. (Sorry Whit, but it's true.)

Do you think something fishy is happening with Whitney and Chris?
