'Bachelorette' Announcement Might Be More Unexpected Than We Ever Dreamed

Kaitlyn Bristowe Britt NilssonAhhhh! Can you believe we're only a few hours away from not only finding out who Chris Soules picks to be his wife on The Bachelor, but also from learning who the next Bachelorette will be? Whether you're Team Kaitlyn (woo-hoo!) or Team Britt (boo!), the announcement should still prove to be exciting, and as it turns out, it just might make our jaws drop to the floor.

For the past couple of weeks, Reality Steve has insisted that Kaitlyn is the new Bachelorette, but now he's changing his tune a bit, though he's not necessarily saying Britt is going to get the job either.

At this point, he admits he's not totally sure whose name will be announced tonight, but he also thinks there's a chance something entirely unexpected could happen.

Get this one -- he's wondering if ABC will pull a fast one on us by casting them both as The Bachelorette, then letting the 25 dudes who sign up for the show ultimately decide which gal they'd rather date.

OMG. Is this a genius plan, or what? No matter who they pick, they're going to upset plenty of fans, so why not give 'em both a shot and let the men make the final decision?

If you remember, this happened once with The Bachelor, when Byron Velvick wound up as our leading man. He was cast along with a dude named Jay, and then the majority of the women voted for Byron after the opening cocktail party.

Since ABC has never tried this tactic with The Bachelorette before, there's really no better opportunity than now to give it a shot, right? It totally makes sense to let the potential suitors decide who they would rather pursue, or if that won't work, they could always announce both of them as The Bachelorette tonight and then have viewers cast their vote on social media for who should wind up winning the gig.

I gotta say, I'm digging this plan. At least this way we can blame it on fans (or the men on the show) as opposed to ABC if Britt somehow manages to win out over Kaitlyn. Wouldn't you rather be pissed at random people you don't know than a network we're glued to watching every Monday night?

What do you think about casting both Britt and Kaitlyn?
