'Game of Thrones' Season 5 Has Twist Even Book Readers Won't See Coming

game of thrones jon snowAlready sick of winter? Well, it's time to perk up for spring, as Game of Thrones season 5 will be premiering on April 12! Hooray! Hopefully it will be as good as previous seasons, because damn, those seasons were so good, though the latest news surrounding season 5 has caused fans to go straight into panic mode. And do a headcount of their favorite characters. Because series author George RR Martin revealed that characters will die in season 5 who don't die in the books.

Book purists are most likely clutching their pearls at this devastating news. Trying to quickly get through A Feast for Crows and A Dance With Dragons before the season 5 premiere will not save you. "People are going to die [in Game of Thrones] who don't die in the books," Martin told Showbiz 411.

Um, say what?

"So, even the book readers will be unhappy. Everybody better be on their toes," the author warned. "David [Benioff] and DB [Weiss, co-creators of the TV series] are even bloodier than I am."

Well that's true, considering the most shocking death at the (SPOILER ALERT) Red Wedding, when Robb Stark's pregnant wife was viciously stabbed in the stomach. Which did not take place in the books. Folks thought the show producers went a little too far then -- so who knows what's in store for season 5 with that tease!

They obviously can't kill off favorites like Tyrion Lannister, Arya Stark, Jon Snow, Daenerys Targaryen if it doesn't happen in the books -- it would simply affect too much for future seasons of the show. (Right?????) But as always, it will be interesting to see just how much show producers will change the original source material and who will end up facing a (most likely gruesome) death that even the most fervent of book readers could never predict. It could even be a major character they opt to kill off without any book forewarning, and then the world would simply cease to exist.

This show sure is tough to watch, isn't it, if they keep killing off favorites. Why do we do this to ourselves?? Oh yeah, because it's awesome. Bring it on, season 5! Can't wait to see who they kill off next.

Who do you think Game of Thrones will kill off who doesn't die in the books?
