'Real Housewives of Atlanta' Recap: I Never Thought These 2 Would EVER Make Nice!

Kenya Moore and Porsha Stewart -- hugging. This is a thing that actually went down this week on The Real Housewives of Atlanta. Since I'm a long-term fan of the show, I should probably be far more invested in whether or not Cynthia Bailey and NeNe Leakes are going to be able to repair their fractured friendship. But, you know, NeNe and Cynthia have never had the other arrested? And go way back? Thereby it's natural and appropriate that I should feel less tense when they are in a room together than I do when Kenya and Porsha are forced to greet each other over vodka tonics -- unless there is also a vodka tonic poured for me (I'll be real, I'd prefer a scotch, but a girl can't be picky when a reality star is buying).

NeNe and Cynthia's relationship had stalled out after their initial "come to Jesus" moment over saltines and water last week. NeNe decided to kick things back into gear (as she explained while wearing hair that looked like maybe she stole it from Sia) and invited Cynthia out for girl talk. Fair enough. But then NeNe (being the genius she is) asked Cynthia to bring Kenya along! As Twirl pointed out, this invite definitely meant that NeNe was bringing her girl Porsha to the party. This dinner was going to end one of two ways, and one of those two ways had me praying that someone at the restaurant was on standby should an ambulance need to be called.

I would have considered the party a success had everyone left without open wounds and all of the weave they waltzed in with. So color me impressed when things actually went ... kind of insanely well? Cynthia and NeNe took another (albeit small) step forward in repairing their friendship, and Kenya and Porsha ended the night WITH A HUG. While neither woman would straight up say the words "I Am Sorry," they "acknowledged" their respective roles in their big altercation and that's as good as saying they're sorry. Shhh, don't tell them that, they might take the whole thing back!

Do you think the peace between Kenya and Porsha will last?
