Larry King's Favorite Holiday Movies

family watching a movie at home

It’s that time of year -- when everyone is gathered at home for days on end: snowstorms (well, fortunately we don’t have those here in LA), kids off from school, family coming to visit, and lots of time inside. We asked Larry King which movies he chooses to watch with his family -- notorious movie buffs -- when everyone’s hanging out together. His two sons are now teenagers, making it easier for them to find more grownup films that everyone likes. But there are some movies that are fun no matter if you’re 8 or 81.

Here are a few of Larry’s favorites:

Field of Dreams -- The Kings are huge baseball fans, and in the summer, you can find Larry and his family behind the dugout at Dodger Stadium. But when the weather turns cold, watching Field of Dreams for the umpteenth time is the next best thing.

Mary Poppins -- Larry sat down with one of his all-time favorite actresses, Julie Andrews. She shared memories of filming another recent classic, The Princess Diaries with Anne Hathaway, and how she landed her career-making role in the classic Disney 1964 film Mary Poppins. And who can forget that performance in The Sound of Music!

The Wizard of Oz -- Who doesn’t love The Wizard of Oz? The classic comes up often when Larry’s talking to guests -- even king of horror Eli Roth said it inspired his filmmaking.

Brave -- Of the new cartoon classics, Brave is a fun one. Craig Ferguson might be better known for his late night gig, but did you know he also played the burly father in BraveCheck out his interview with Larry last summer.

What movies do you watch over the holidays with your family?
