  • It's All About Controlled Chaos

    1

When it comes to Frank and Claire Underwood, there is always some sinister plot brewing. It's frightening how they so easily lull people into a sense of care and comfort only to stab them in the back.

  • Most Twisted Marriage on TV

    2

No cheesy love story here. They are dedicated to each other, but they are one warped pair. He cheats. She cheats. And they are both aware of what the other is up to. It almost seems like some sick form of foreplay, which makes for some really bizarre moments.

  • Everyone's Expendable

    3

SPOILER ALERT! Don't get too attached to a character. He will eliminate anyone who gets in his way. Take Zoe Barnes for instance. She was a goner as soon as she went from being an asset to an irritating thorn in Frank's side. The solution? Throw her in front of a moving train in season two, of course. It was both shocking and thrilling. In that moment, we knew anything could happen on this show. Can't wait to see who's on the chopping block next.

  • Deliciously Vicious

    4

Claire Underwood is Lady Macbeth x3. She is just as vile and cunning as her husband, if not more. Her villainy is often masked behind that chic, demure demeanor, but she is a viper in a well-tailored Armani dress.

  • Fly On the Wall

    5

It feels like a cool and crazy insider perspective on politics. Not sure if there is that much murder in Washington, but we totally buy into the backdoor political dealings.

  • Menage a WTF??!!

    6

SPOILER ALERT! Fans never say this coming. We were all drop-jawed when Frank and Claire got it on with their bodyguard Edward Meechum.

  • Frank = Worst Friend Ever

    7

SPOILER ALERT! With a friend like Frank, who needs enemies. Freddy had been nothing but a good, loyal friend to the devilish politician. What did he get for that? A ruined business and his life in tatters. He wasn't Frank's only victim and he surely won't be the last.

  • Words to Live By

    8

He may be a fictional character but his life lessons are absolutely invaluable in the real world. Among his words of wisdom:

“A great man once said, everything is about sex. Except sex. Sex is about power.”

“There are two kinds of pain. The sort of pain that makes you strong, or useless pain. The sort of pain that’s only suffering. I have no patience for useless things.”

“There’s no better way to overpower a trickle of doubt than with a flood of naked truth.”

“Proximity to power deludes some into thinking they wield it.”
