It's Official: Kathy Griffin To Host 'Fashion Police'

Since Joan Rivers' passing last summer, rumors have been buzzing about who could take over her Fashion Police hosting duties, with comedienne Kathy Griffin's name at the top of the list.

Today E! officially announced Griffin will bring her snarky, nothing-is-off-limits humor to the fashion-focused talk show.

More from The Stir: Quit Asking Kelly Osbourne Who Will Replace Joan Rivers

Griffin knows she has her work cut out for her. In a statement, she said:

I get it! These are some big shoes I'm going to fill. Joan was truly one of a kind. Now I hope you will accept me for me. I'm just Kathy. Did I say I'm just Kathy? I'm Kathy F***ing Griffin and you celebrities better strap yourself in, as I'm taking no prisoners. I am not holding back so DAMMIT let's have some fun.

Additionally there will be another new face on the Fashion Police panel in the form of Brad Goreski, who takes over for George Kotsiopoulos.

Replacing Rivers could not have been an easy task, particularly because daughter Melissa Rivers will continue to executive produce the program, but Griffin seems like the only logical choice. Not only were the two funny ladies dear friends, but Rivers was a huge champion of Griffin's, serving as her mentor. For a woman who was never afraid to share her opinion, no matter how controversial, I'd like to think she's smiling down on having her friend take over.

In a show of support Melissa Rivers says:

Kathy just feels right, and Brad brings a fun, new voice to join Guiliana and Kelly in this ensemble. I'm excited to see where this panel takes this series my mother so adored in this next incarnation.

Fashion Police returns to E! on January 12 for their Golden Globes coverage, offering a first look at the new team.

Do you think Kathy Griffin is the right choice to replace Joan Rivers?
