'Real Housewives of New Jersey' Reunion Recap: Teresa Giudice Makes a Sad Announcement

It's probably not surprising, but that doesn't make it less sad: Teresa Giudice announced tonight on the third installment of The Real Housewives of New Jersey reunion that she would most likely not be back on the show. She called tonight her "final reunion," and she got weepy doing it. I don't blame her. I got weepy too! Though not as much as Andy Cohen did. He took her hand for comfort.

It was tough to watch! It's been a long, hard road for Teresa, and while I wasn't expecting her to say, "Cameras will be following me in jail and I'll be back when this is all over," I have to say, part of me hoped that there would be more to the story than this sad ending. They have skirted the issue of Teresa's future on the show since the verdict came out and jail-time was announced. Andy saved Teresa's announcement for the final moments of the show, and it was pretty heart-rending. I wish they'd let Joe stay on stage with her for moral support.

Don't get me wrong. I understand that Teresa committed a crime, was found guilty, and will now have to spend time in jail. That's the way the justice system works and I fully support that. But Teresa's humility and remorse seem completely genuine to me, as such, I do feel badly for her. I should know about true remorse, because I watch a lot of Snapped on Oxygen. I am basically a lawyer now. Or at least an FBI profiler.

While it's super sad that this reunion episode marked the end of Teresa's journey with the Housewives, it's sadder still to contemplate the time Teresa is going to lose with her children. They didn't commit any crime, and it seems beyond cruel that they should have to pay a price for things their parents did. Bittersweet doesn't begin to cover it.

Do you think Teresa will ever be on TV again?
