Tyler Baltierra Makes Shocking Confession About Relationship With Catelynn Lowell

Catelynn Lowell Tyler Baltierra

Out of all of the couples to come out of the Teen Mom series, Tyler Baltierra and Catelynn Lowell have captured our hearts as far as having the type of relationship we all hope and dream for.

You know, a loving, respectful, 100 percent committed to each other kind of love that makes us believe that soul mates actually exist. (As cheesy as that sounds.)

And the fact that they're finally having a baby together has us bursting with happiness for them, as they'll no doubt be incredible parents to their new little girl.

But given how ideal their bond seems to be to their fans, Tyler made a surprising confession about their relationship, which should serve as a wake-up call to all of us.

During the Teen Mom "Ask the Moms" special, he admitted that he and Catelynn still go to couple's therapy, and hinted that things between them aren't always as wonderful as they seem.

He said:

Whoever thinks they're going to fall in love and it's going to be this awesome thing for 100 years, it's not. Relationships are work, and we've been to counseling back and forth. So for all you people who think we're like the perfect couple, we're not. I don't even think there's such a thing as a perfect couple. We went through years of counseling with each other, and we still go to this day.

Damn. Just when we thought he couldn't possibly be any more mature, Tyler comes out with a brutally honest statement like that and blows our minds once again.

Seriously, how amazing are these two? I love how candid they are about what it takes to make their relationship work and that it's not all roses and unicorns every single day of their lives.

And honestly, the fact that they've been through their fair share of challenges but have learned to work through them together will really come in handy after their baby arrives. Nothing quite throws a couple for a loop like having a newborn in the house, but something tells me Catelynn and Tyler will transition seamlessly into their roles as parents.

That kind of love is pretty hard to find these days, and clearly that's something they both realize and aren't willing to let go of.

Are you surprised that Tyler and Catelynn go to therapy?
