'Full House' Revival in the Works? Cut It Out!

You may have been super tired last night/woken up bleary-eyed this morning, but most likely your spirits were risen to the high heavens when you read the latest breaking entertainment news. It seems that a Full House revival is in the works! Yep, your favorite, cheesy, violin-background music-loving, all-white cast could actually grace your television screens yet again in the very near future. Oh, Mylanta!

The sitcom aired on ABC from 1987 to 1995 and can still be seen at nighttime on Nick at Nite. Don't lie, you know you've watched a couple episodes. With the show's success on Nick at Nite, Warner Bros. TV is thinking about bringing back some of the original cast and giving the show a reboot. With the newly revived Girl Meets World getting a second season, this could equal ratings gold. Or, at the very least, a super-curious audience who wants to see exactly which direction the reboot could possibly take.

According to TV Guide, John Stamos, who played Uncle Jesse and has an ownership stake in the series, is trying to get everyone on board with this genius idea. Reportedly executive producer Bob Boyett and creator Jeff Franklin are all for it. TV Guide also says Candace Cameron Bure (DJ), Jodie Sweetin (Stephanie), Andrea Barber (Kimmy Gibbler), Bob Saget (Danny), and Dave Coulier (Uncle Joey) could sign up as well.

No word on Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen (Michelle) of course. It's hard to imagine they'd want to come back to Full House. They probably think they are way too cool for the show -- and they haven't appeared when the rest of the cast got together. But perhaps one of them could come back for a cameo or two if the show takes off? Rumor has it that John Stamos and the twins are still close. We need more "you got it, dude"s in our lives.

From the man trio appearing on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon to reuniting for Dave Coulier's recent nuptials, clearly (most of) the cast is still in touch and loves each other. Nick at Nite also reports that repeats are up 7 percent in viewership from last year. It's even popular with teens! Who would have thought?

Clearly the show, despite its predictability and corniness and ability to solve all of life's problems in 25 minutes, is speaking to a lot of people, perhaps as an escape from our increasingly crazy, cynical world. For people who grew up with it, it's a healthy dose of feel-good nostalgia. Come on, who wouldn't want to see Uncle Jesse get spanked by a monkey while relaxing with the family on any given night?

Good stuff.

Considering it seems like the perfect storm for the show to get revived, let's hope there's more to these reports than just rumor. Full House needs to come back and as quickly as possible. You know you'd watch it.

Do you think Full House will get a reboot? Would you watch?
