First 'Walking Dead' Season 5 Clip Shows a Fan Favorite Is Still Alive (VIDEO)

Walking Dead season 5I have awesome news, zombie fans: the first Walking Dead season 5 video has been released. Granted, it's a behind-the-scenes "Greeting From Set" clip, not an official preview of what's to come, but it's great fun to watch.

The cast and crew are really hyping the premiere episode, so much so that I kind of want to tell them to ease back a little because disappointment almost seems inevitable at this point. But if we take them at their word, not only will season 5 be the very best yet, the first episode is going to blow our freakin' minds.

The video was posted by AMC yesterday, and it's a collection of on-set filming snippets and interviews primarily focused on the season premiere. Lauren Cohan, who plays Maggie, drops what may be the most intriguing tease so far for the hardcore horror fans:

This episode is so disturbing. I mean some of the stuff they shot yesterday ... I don’t know if it’ll make it to TV.

Ooooh, this really makes me think we're going to see a Rick-retaliates-against-Terminus storyline similar to what happened with The Hunters in the comics. Which is to say: amputation, torture, brutal executions.

Andrew Lincoln, who plays Rick, re-confirms that you definitely don't want to miss the first episode and subsequently get spoilered by loose-lipped Twitter fans:

It's the most ambitious episode I think we've ever attempted. (...) It moves like no premiere we’ve ever shot before. And if this is anything to go by for the season, I think it’s going to be the best season yet.

For anyone worried that season 5 will slow things down to focus on character development or Carl's ability to eat an entire barrel of pudding, the show's prop master hastens to assure us there will be blood and undead fiends a'plenty:

There's a lot more action. There's a lot more zombies.

YESSSSS. Check out the video:

Two notable things: 1) Carol's alive and kicking zombie ass! Hooray!

2) No Beth to be found, at least not yet.

What did you think of this video? Does it make you look forward to the new Walking Dead season?
