Brilliant 'Arrested Development' Guest Stars Make Us Even More Excited for New Episodes

Arrested DevelopmentYou probably didn't need another reason to be excited about the upcoming new episodes of Arrested Development, which will be released in May. I mean, if you're a fan of the original show -- and what heartless, humor-challenged heathen ISN'T -- the fact that Netflix is reviving the series is awesome enough all on its own.

However, the news gets even better. Not only will all 14 of the episodes be released all at once, allowing for maximum television binging pleasure, but two new guest stars have been announced for the show. The original cast will be featured, along with recurring cast members like Liza Minnelli and Henry Winkler -- and now the guest star list has officially crossed the line from "intriguing" to OH MY GOD I CANNOT WAIT SOMEONE PUT ME IN A MEDICAL COMA UNTIL MAY.

It's already been announced that Arrested Development guest stars will include Conan O’Brien, Andy Richter, John Slattery, Terry Crews, and Isla Fisher. That's a damn fine list right there (if Terry Crews doesn't immediately ring a bell, you may remember him from this Old Spice ad), but Netflix has confirmed two new names that should have any comedy fan geeking right out: Kristen Wiig and Seth Rogen.

There's no official word on what characters they'll play and how many episodes they'll be in, but Vulture has the inside scoop on Wiig's role, and if it's true, it is some BRILLIANT casting. Don't keep reading if you want to remain completely unspoiled, but the Bridesmaids star will reportedly be playing ... *drumroll* ... a younger version of Lucille Bluth.

Yeah, I totally want to see that. Ditto to whoever Rogen is playing, because I love that doofy guy.

As for what else we can expect from the revived series, it's definitely not being billed as a new season. Jason Bateman has stated that the new episodes are "not Season 4," and instead should be treated as individual stand-alone shows. Each episode will reportedly revolve around a different character, and only Bateman's character will appear in every episode.

Personally, I don't care WHAT they do, I'm just thrilled it's coming back. Hooray for Netflix and original content! Hooray for beloved characters and awesome guest stars! Hooray for spending at least two full days on the couch in May, moving only to avoid bedsores!

Are you excited about the new episodes of Arrested Development? What do you think about Kristen Wiig and Seth Rogen as guest stars?
