'Teen Mom' Jenelle Evans' Contagious Condition Could Also Affect You

jenelle evansTeen Mom Jenelle Evans' latest drama has nothing to do with divorce or her on-again boyfriend Gary Head. Not even plastic surgery or a pregnancy! Nope, instead, she's all worked up over how frequently she's sneezing. (No joke.)

Gary tweeted yesterday, "I think @PBandJenelley_1 is allergic to the sun. She sneezes everytime she steps into the sun." Well, it is actually possible that she might suffer from a disorder called photic sneeze reflex, defined as a "condition of uncontrollable sneezing in response to numerous stimuli, such as looking at bright lights."

But then again, if you spend too much time researching health issues online, you might think you suffer from any and every ailment on the planet! In fact, forget the photic sneeze reflex. It sounds like Jenelle could be suffering from something else ...

Web hyochondria! You know what I'm talking about ... We've all done it at some point -- Googled our strange symptoms, read message boards, then WebMD'ed or Wikipedia'ed or Mayo Clinic'ed our way into a cold sweat.

I remember back at one point when I was looking for the perfect birth control pill (which totally doesn't exist, by the way), and reading what other women had to say about the side effects they experienced on just about every one I looked up was enough to trigger a panic attack.

It's so easy to fall into the trap of self-diagnosing when there's soooo much information at our fingertips. Doctors HATE it ... which kinda gets under my skin, because when you're suffering from a legit health concern, I can't see the harm in doing your research. Unless you take it way too far -- and turn into a total web hypochondriac. Clearly, getting all worked up about a stab-in-the-dark diagnosis is not gonna do anything positive for your wellness!

Thankfully, it doesn't sound like there's really much for her to worry about. Even if she's nailed an accurate self-diagnosis, all she needs is the right pair of sexy sunglasses, and she'll be fine!

Have you ever gotten sucked into a bout of web hypochondria?
