'Bachelorette' Winner Jef Holm Sinks to a New Low in His Quest for Fame

Emily Maynard & Jef Holm & Chris Harrison

Sigh. I still can't believe it happened, but somewhere during the course of Emily Maynard's season of The Bachelorette ending and now, I too, fell out of love with Jef Holm. Yep, I was a sucker for his smooth-talkin', skateboardin' ways right from the get-go, but after he popped the question, I totally lost interest.

And it's not because he and Emily broke up -- it's because unfortunately, Jef's true colors started to come out, and he's really shaping up to be kind of a fame whore. Tragic, yes, but it does appear to be the case.

If you're not quite convinced that Jef has super-stardom in his sights, then his latest egotistical move might change your mind.

Get this one -- Jef has promised to write a personal note to anyone who buys something from the People Water website.

Yes, if you take the plunge and buy yourself a case of water, or perhaps even a t-shirt for one of the kiddos, you'll also receive a token of Jef's appreciation, in the form of a letter. Not gonna lie. I'm tempted to purchase something just to see what Jef would have to say to me. Do I dare? (Nah. With my luck I'd get a standard form letter.)

Ughhhh. I know it's kind of expected for Jef to use the 15 minutes of fame he gained on The Bachelorette to pimp out his water biz, but the fact that's he's going so far as to assume his customers will go for the incentive of a handwritten note? He must think pretty highly of himself, or at least he assumes other people do.

But at some point, most fans of the show are probably going to forget about him, or at least that's what typically happens with former contestants after the initial buzz from their season dies down. Of course, if by some chance Jef is the next Bachelor -- the game would really change for People Water. (But if that happens, he should probably forgo the personal notes, otherwise he'll run the risk of getting a major case of writer's cramp.)

Do you think Jef is trying to stretch his fame as far as it can go?
