Jenny McCarthy's New Show Sounds So Wild It Could Just Work

Jenny McCarthyI've always been somewhat of a fan of Jenny McCarthy, since the days she hosted Singled Out on MTV (isn't it about a time for a comeback for that show, btw?). Though she makes me cringe and has been involved in plenty of controversy, I usually find myself rooting for her because she's bold, ballsy, and pretty freaking hilarious most of the time. So when it comes to the ex-Playboy bunny's new late night talk show, The Jenny McCarthy Show, set to premiere Feb. 8 on VH1, I'm hoping for the best ... as odd as it all sounds.

Yesterday she told reporters that she's looking to establish a "party atmosphere". She says she plans to garner inspiration from Hugh Hefner's old Playboy After Dark show and wants to bring a whole lot of sexiness to American television screens.

According to Yahoo!, one feature will be the "groundbreaking interview," in which the guests and McCarthy will both be lying on the ground while they chat. Which could be ... interesting, I suppose. She told reporters this weekend:

I've found by doing this, which I've tested - on Bradley Cooper - it works quite well. There's just something that [happens where] the celebrity kind of lets go and has a little bit more of a conversational tone. It's not so scripted."

Another segment being touted is a game called "Drunk, Dumb or Both," in which she stands outside a bar and asks men questions such as, "what color is a red boat? I suppose that could be hilarious, but I fear it all may be a little too gimmicky.

Frankly, I think Jenny just being herself and interviewing people sitting in regular old chairs could be outrageous and entertaining enough. So I hope she doesn't try too hard.

But you know what? Late night TV as it is hasn't been working that great for quite sometime. So maybe this kind of thing could spice things up on Friday nights. I'm curious enough that I'll definitely be tuning in to see how it all goes down.

Will you watch Jenny McCarthy's new late night show?
