'Jersey Shore' Cast Goes Political & Uses Really Big Words (VIDEO)

SnookiThe laundry, it can wait; now it's operation, gym, tan, vote for the cast of Jersey Shore. The gang of self-professed guidos and guidettes is hoping to rock the vote with a hilarious Funny or Die video in which you see them as you've NEVER seen them before.

For starters, Snooki is reading a copy of Mother Jones, which I'd be willing to bet she'd never even heard of previously. Then they open their mouths, and the strangest things start coming out -- big words. Really big words.

From Vinny, who it must be noted is wearing a t-shirt that reads "That Shi Cray": "You guys realize that this kind of apathy is damaging to our younger generations. If anything, our lessened influence is a self-fulfilling prophecy."

I didn't think it possible, but Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino actually almost sounds smart too. In response to Deena's concern that New Jersey has lost of some of its power at the federal level, he says, "A keen observation Deena, but keep in mind there's still local candidates and ballot initiatives that demand consideration." Then they started getting so smart, I wasn't falling, which made me feel really stupid for a second.

Nothing they're saying is funny, but hearing them say it is. I just wonder how many takes they had to do to get it all right, because these are clearly not words and thoughts that roll easily off of their typically tanked tongues. You could see them concentrating really hard. Watch for yourself.

Most importantly, the video directs people to an MTV page that lets them register to vote online and find information on their polling places. If it helps spark young people to get out and vote, then it's well worth it.

And who knows, maybe the political bug will bite one of the Jersey Shore cast mates hard and they'll end up running for office. It seems to be the trend for reality stars these days with Kim Kardashian setting her sights on a gig as mayor, and former Real Housewife of New Jersey Danielle Staub gunning for a U.S. Senate seat. Stranger things have happened, and there's eventually got to be more to life than Ron Ron Juice and DTF girls. Right?

What do you think of the video? Think it will move anyone to vote?
