Jill Zarin May Get the Last Laugh on 'The Real Housewives of New York'

Jill ZarinWhen Bravo announced it was booting Jill Zarin from The Real Housewives of New York, you know Ramona Singer among others sat back and hooted and howled with smug laughter. However, with this season of RHWONY royally sucking and rumors running rampant that the cast is already being eyed for potential "jiggling," that firing may just have been the best thing ever to happen to Jill.

According to a blog post she wrote yesterday, Jill has just landed a prime new gig. She says "Hollywood called again," and she's going to be a special correspondent for new show Good Afternoon America, a spin-off of  Good Morning America.

She wrote:

I am doing a weekly reality show segment on Wednesdays at 2pm...giving my opinion on reality shows. My first show will air July 11th and covers shows like America's Got Talent, The Bachelorette and maybe a housewife show?? It is part time and yet still gives me an opportunity to talk to all of you every week and keep it real. I love that I am "LIVE"...you never know what I will come up with right?

Well, look at her. I've never been much of a fan of her and her conniving ways (Team Bethenny!), but you have to hand it to her for finding a new opportunity after life on the Housewives. She's definitely made it known that she doesn't want to step out of the public eye, and even though Bravo has made it clear they don't want her, here she is right back where she wants to be.

As annoying as she and her nasally voice may be, all in all Jill may not be the worst choice when it comes to ratings either. She clearly has a following of fans for whatever reason; and she has enough haters that may just tune in to find something to slam her for.  Get Danielle Staub to step in once in awhile, and they could blow them through the roof.

The first segment airs next week, and It will be interesting to see how it goes. But oh, how furious I bet Ramona is right now, to think of Jill having such a major platform on which to slam her each week. I bet she's sporting a nice shade of green too.

Do you think Jill Zarin will make a good host for Good Afternoon America? Will you watch?
