'Real Housewives of New York' Recap: Ramona Still Isn't Going to London

Heather Thomson and Ramona SingerCould they puh-leez go to London already? This season of The Real Housewives of New York is slow to say the least, and tonight's episode was more mind-numbingly boring than ever. There's really got to be more to this season than this silly little spat between Ramona Singer and Heather Thomson, doesn't there?

I mean more than a detailed account of what Sonja Morgan's interns do. More than watching LuAnn de Lesseps get acupuncture. More than watching Carole Radziwill's uncomfortable date. This stuff does not a promising season of Real Housewives make. I never thought I'd say it, but I think I miss Simon van Kempen -- at least we could count on him for some shocking scenes.

Sigh. But this is what we've got, so I guess we should discuss this dumb feud between Ramona and Heather, which neither will acknowledge as a feud.

Heather's trying to be all smooth about it, citing her right to invite anyone she wants to London. That's fine, but she's still a mean girl for excluding only Ramona, and Ramona needs to be a big girl and move on ... or pull a Jill Zarin and show up in London unexpectedly. Now THAT would spice things up (fingers crossed).

The bottom line is Ramona and Heather just don't like each other. They're way too similar, which they'd never see, but it's a recipe for disaster when their similarities including traits like -- narcissistic, obnoxious, and must be the center of attention at all time. It will be interesting to see which side of crazy and obnoxious the other Housewives choose in the end, as I'm convinced there's more of it to come from Heather, holla! (her opening line drives me insane), and, of course, there's plenty of it from Ramona always.

I don't mean to be so negative, but it's sad to see what used to be one of the franchise's best cities fall so far down on the rung -- we're talking almost down to the level of the atrocity that was Miami. Shudder

Carole is the only bright light, and she's funny as hell. She's also clearly there just to pimp her book and TV show, and isn't really in it for the action, so I doubt she's going to stir things up too much.

Hopefully next week London will happen, and the "cool girls" will go to London (though there's nothing cool about LuAnn, and  Heather is lukewarm at best) while Ramona and Aviva stay back and Ramona stews some more. Then we can  finally move on to whatever else the rest of this season brings ... if we don't fall asleep first. Andy Cohen, do something!

What do you think of The Real Housewives of New York this season?
