'Khloe & Lamar' Finale Recap: Khloe Is Scared to Confront the Truth About Her Father

Khloe Kardashian and Lamar OdomWho is Khloe Kardashian's real father? That was the big question on tonight's season finale of Khloe & Lamar. It didn't end with a typical, neat Kardashian bow, but it did show that no matter how difficult the challenges they face, Khloe and Lamar are better facing them together.

Kim called to let her know about tabloid stories claiming that Robert Kardashian Sr. confessed on his deathbed that she wasn't his daughter. Instead of just quickly dismissing them, however, we saw how truly worried Khloe was about them.

Rob didn't make matters any better when he tried to trick her into believing that they'd had a family meeting about it and that Kris Jenner made them all swear not to tell her Khloe really wasn't one of them. It was mean, and Khloe didn't find it funny.

Kim and Kourtney didn't ease her worries as they were adamant about wanting her to take a DNA test. It would be the seemingly logical thing to do, but Khloe was too scared to do it. Her friend Malika offered her good advice when she told her it didn't really matter.

It's something you shouldn't have to deal with. You don't need anybody to prove anything to you. You know the love of your father deceased or even when he was here. No one can change that, not even DNA.

True, but I can't believe she wouldn't want to know definitively, especially when it was so obviously bothering her. "This whole thing weirds me out, freaks me out, it makes me feel really uncomfortable," she said. "It also kind of scares me, the what if, like what if I’m really not?’"

When Kris Jenner (who admitted in her book to having an affair the year Khloe was conceived) approached her about getting a DNA test, she said she didn't want one and wouldn't get one. "I am one million percent comfortable with not getting a DNA test and knowing that my father is my father," she said. "I'm more than happy to live with that for the rest of my life."

And that's great if it's true ... but it didn't seem true. She still seemed quite bothered by lingering doubt, and I can't imagine the question won't always be there nagging at her somehow. The title of the episode was "The Truth Will Set You Free," but if she never really knows the truth, she's not going to be free from it.

Maybe she'll change her mind in the future (previews for Keeping Up With the Kardashians suggest she might); maybe she won't. But whatever her decision and whatever any outcome may be if she does, if she has Lamar by her side, she'll be able to handle it. As she said of the past year, "This has been a very crazy past year ... And you know what? Lamar and I did not just get through it, we made one another so much stronger and we did it still holding hands and kissing."

Let's hope they keep on holding hands and kissing for a very long time, whether we get to watch or not.

Do you think Khloe ever will take a DNA test to determine who her real father is? Do you think she should?
