'Khloe & Lamar' Recap: Nothin' but Love in Los Angeles

Lamar OdomThe drama over pregnancy pressure was put on hold this week on Khloe & Lamar, as Lamar Odom learned he was heading back to Los Angeles to play against his former team, the Lakers. Just when he started feeling comfortable with his new teammates on the Dallas Mavericks and getting his head back in the game, it was time to head back to the place that sent him packing (and reeling) in the first place.

Both he and Khloe were a mess of nerves leading up to big game, but they were also happy to be home and see their friends and family again. Bonus: We got to see the always adorable Mason Disick. But the reunion was bittersweet because they knew they weren't really home. "It's like a tease; there's no point in getting too comfortable," Khloe said.

She also admitted to her sisters Kylie and Kendall Jenner that while the southern hospitality of Texas is nice, she pretty much hates it and is miserable because she doesn't know anyone there. But she put on her best brave face, and was there for Lamar 100 percent like she always is.

When his best friend Jamie was acting like a jerk, worrying only about his lack of access to VIP treatment since Lamar moved, Khloe confronted and called him out on his bad behavior. He, surprisingly, took her words to heart and called Lamar to apologize, which was great as worrying about his best friend was the last thing Lamar needed to add to his nerves as the game neared. I have my doubts as to whether he'd really be there if Lamar was a garbage man, but let's hope we never have to find out.

It was tense watching Lamar head back into what was once his home turf, and things really could have gone either way when it came to the reception he got. Fortunately, Los Angeles kept it nothing but classy, and welcomed him back with enthusiasm.

Not only did they give him a standing ovation, but they also played a video montage of some of his impressive plays over the years. "Welcome back, L.O." flashed on the screen, and you could see the relief flood both Khloe and Lamar. They were feeling the love big time.

It was lovely, but also bittersweet to watch because while we're seeing it look like everything is starting to fall in place for Lamar with his new career on the Dallas Mavericks, we know how short-lived this new positive streak will be. Next week previews show hints that we'll see Kris Jenner pursuing Mark Cuban. I can't wait to see how obnoxious that will be.

Were you surprised by the warm welcome Los Angeles gave Lamar? Do you think Jamie is  a true friend to Lamar?
