'Real Housewives of Orange County' Recap: Tamra Barney Has Second Thoughts About Divorce

Tamra BarneyTonight on The Real Housewives of Orange County, Tamra Barney finally signed her divorce papers, dissolving her 11-year marriage to Simon Barney. After two years of separation and sparring, the big "D" day at last arrived. Tamra was in high spirits on her way to the signing, planning to celebrate later that night with beau Eddie Judge.

"I'm a free bitch after today," she said.

Only once she arrived at the attorney's office, she was a sad bitch and broke down. She started having second thoughts about what she was doing, why she was doing it, and most importantly, what she was doing to her children. It seemed genuine, and she seemed to surprise even herself with her emotional outpouring.

"What am I doing?" she said. "I have let my kids down and I have split this family up."

Still she went forward and signed the papers, which included waiving her rights to spousal support. It's not like she and Simon were going to get back together, but it was good to see her be so reflective about the divorce and what she's learned. With her recent engagement to Eddie, it's felt like she's moving forward too fast without looking back. While I still wish she'd wait a little while longer to jump into marriage again, this honest emotional outpouring -- instead of her usual flip humor -- made me feel like she may be more ready than I thought. I hope so.

More from The Stir: Tamra Barney Plunge With Eddie Judge Is Painful to Watch

Though she finally got the good news that her daughter was cancer free, Vicki Gunvalson was also a mess about her divorce and feeling guilty for being happy with her new man, Brooks. Basically, Vicki is just a mess, period. She looks on the verge of tears no matter what she's doing, and I worry about her potential to just melt completely one of these days.

As for the rest of the episode, there was the highly dangerous mud run. Tamra and Eddie, Gretchen Rossi and Slade Smiley, and even Heather and Terry Dubrow showed up to participate in the messy event in which Eddie broke his finger and Gretchen sprained her ankle. Heather, sporting a "fancy pants" t-shirt, showed that she's not always prissy and can get a little dirty ... but not for long.

Speaking of prissy ... Alexis Bellino finally got out of bed after her nose job. After the agonizing removal of the bandage (could she be a bigger baby?), her new schnoz was revealed. She proclaimed it "perfect," "so pretty," and "gorgeous" about 1,000 times. Glad it was all about her sinuses. Previews for next week look good as we saw Jim seemingly putting her in her place since they "became one flesh" when getting married. Can't wait.

Were you surprised to see Tamra get so emotional about signing her divorce papers?
