'Khloe & Lamar' Recap: Turkey Talk Leads to Important 'Prom Prom'

Khloe KardashianThings got pretty heavy this week on Khloe & Lamar as the couple faced a big decision. Lamar Odom was bored out of his mind with the NBA lockout dragging on. He was crying into his Lakers jersey, baking up a storm, and playing hangman as his hoops had come to halt. Then the call came asking if he'd like to play in Turkey while things were resolved with the NBA.

On the surface, it sounded like a great opportunity as he'd get to play ball and see another part of the world. Only that particular part of the world was extremely concerning to Khloe because of the issues with it and the Armenian Genocide, about which viewers got an informative little crash course.

Given her family's heritage, she was conflicted over her loyalty to the Armenian people, who are angry that Turkey still hasn't acknowledged the events that happened, and her loyalty to her husband. It was a tough place to be in for sure, but her big mistake was in not voicing her concerns to Lamar.

Instead she just fretted over it until Bruce Jenner set her straight. I'd forgotten how much I've missed Bruce and his infinite words of wisdom, and once again he knew best: "Open up, tell him exactly what your feelings are -- good and bad -- about going to Turkey."

So that's just what she did. Lamar was his normal calm, rationale, and supportive self. "Why didn't you tell me earlier?" was his first response, which was a good question. Khloe always seems so fearless and strong, so seeing her so timid about something is interesting to watch and lets us know that she's much more sensitive than she often appears ... especially when it comes to Lamar.

In the end, it all worked out for the best. They got a good lesson in communication and were all prom prom (seriously, prom prom) to work things out together. He thought she would make a great ambassador for peace there, and it would have been interesting to see how that would have worked out for her. We'll never know though as late that night as Lamar the insomniac was in bed watching television, on came news that the lockout had ended. So it was ta ta Turkey, and as we know now, time for Texas.

Do you think Khloe should have gone to Turkey if the lockout hadn't ended? Were you surprised to see her hide her feelings from Lamar?
