'Real Housewives of Atlanta' Recap: Malorie Goes Too Far With the Peter Hate

Cynthia Bailey and MalorieEach episode of The Real Housewives of Atlanta feels like two separate shows these days. The first stars Kim Zolciak who rarely mixes with the rest of the group. This week it featured her screaming, "Sweeeeeeeeetie!" and debating as to whether she should fire her friend/assistant. I vote yes, especially if what she says Sweetie said to her 14-year-old daughter, Brielle ("go f*ck yourself"), is true.

The rest the episode centered around a ridiculous one-year anniversary party for Cynthia Bailey and Peter Thomas. As strange as it was to throw a party at that juncture in a marriage, however, it was really no one else's business if that's how they wanted to spend their money. Of course, Cynthia's sister, Malorie, didn't see it that way.

Now, I'm not a huge fan of Peter, and I originally sided with Mal to some degree in this whole mess when he and Cynthia were getting married, but she needs to stop. They're married, and while she may have problems with her sister's husband, she's said her piece ... again and again and again. It's not doing anything but driving a wedge between her and Cynthia, and it's getting out of hand.

Also, I'm not sure if I've ever seen her smile; she's kind of a big downer. She really got out of line when she and her mother arrived late to the party. Just before Cynthia was to make her grand entrance, they started berating Peter and saying how shocked they were that the marriage had made it a month, much less a year.

"We're shocked. Shocked. Shocked. I'm shocked," Mal said about 8,000 times. Then her mother questioned if Peter is bipolar, and Malorie threw out that she thinks he's too controlling. What a way to say Happy Anniversary.

Meanwhile, Sheree Whitfield, the great tattle tale/pot stirrer, told Lawrence about Marlo Hampton's use of the "F" word (the one that rhymes with maggots) while in South Africa. When Lawrence confronted Marlo, she looked him in the face ... and denied the whole thing.

I suppose she could have forgotten that she said it, which may make it worse, but I think she was just caught and didn't want to admit it. "I would not dare say that. I have a best friend and another close friend that’s gay. Never."

Only she totally did, and Bravo has it on tape. So I don't know who she thinks she's fooling.

Then it came time for Peter's big toast, so he whistled for the attention of everyone ... except Mal. He was joking, but Mal didn't find it funny and ran off crying. She and Cynthia ended up in a big confrontation, but it was good to see Cynthia stand up for herself and her relationship firmly. “This is my life, live your life,” she told her. Mal doesn't have to like it, but she needs to respect if she wants to keep a relationship with her sister.

Do you think Malorie was out of line with her vocal disapproval of Peter? Were you shocked to see Marlo lie about what she said?
