'Kourtney & Kim Take New York' Season 2 Finale Recap: That's It

Kim Kardashian and Kris HumphriesFor weeks now on Kourtney & Kim Take New York, we've watched Kim Kardashian lament and carry on about how her marriage to Kris Humphries just isn't working. On tonight's finale, she really didn't come up with anything new. She's given every excuse, reason, and rationale for what led up to the demise of the 72-day marriage, but they all boil down to this: She just didn't like being married to him.

And she really didn't have much interest in making it work. She said she did, but it certainly didn't show. They couldn't even do Pilates together without her storming out, and forget something as simple as dinner. When he started talking about moving his stuff to her Los Angeles home, she flipped out and suggested he just bring a few things instead. Even Kourtney couldn't help but tell Kim what a bitch she was being.

Of course, she blames the marriage for turning her into a bitch, so I'm not sure why she was so surprised that Kourtney thought so, but she was irate and called Khloe to complain. After Khloe talked her down a bit, Kourt came in, and Kim broke down ... again.

I can't do this anymore with Kris. I got into it way too fast. I got caught up in, like, the fairy tale of this whole thing. I'm not happy. I should have dated him longer. I think he thought I was a different person and I've become a different person with him. I feel really bad and I feel like a failure and I don't know what to do.

The whole time Kim poured her heart out and tried to wipe off the mascara tracks from her face, I wasn't feeling much sympathy for her. Kris was willing to try, to make an effort, but all she could focus on was that she just wasn't feeling it. And that's her right, but it certainly made her seem more selfish than sympathetic.

It was almost hard not to feel a little sorry for him when Kris told his friend, "Kim's been acting weird. Distant .... I'm just over her. Ready to get a divorce."

Fairy tale or not, it's hard to see how someone's feelings could change that quickly or someone's judgement could be THAT far off. I have no doubt they don't belong together, I just don't understand why they got together in the first place. They deserve the benefit of the doubt, and love is a mysterious thing and all of that, but I don't think this finale did anything to deflect the decrees of those who believe the whole marriage was a fake to begin with

At least she felt bad:

He fell in love with me and I fell in love with him and now all my feelings have changed. I invited all these people to this huge wedding and flew everyone out, wasted everyone's time and everyone's money -- everyone's everything -- and I feel bad.

We never saw the final conversation in which they decided to end their marriage, just them heading off in a tension-filled car and Kim full of hatred for New York. But we all know what happened. "That's it, babe," Kris said, as they drove away. Indeed it was.

At least their quick-lived relationship in New York had one positive outcome -- it made Kourtney and Scott Disick feel really good about their relationship when pitted against this doomed relationship.

What did you think of the finale of Kourtney & Kim Take New York? Did you feel any sympathy for Kim?
