'Real Housewives of Atlanta' Recap: Sheree & Phaedra Are Headed for Trouble

Sheree WhitfieldTonight we got a bonus episode of The Real Housewives of Atlanta because ... I have no idea why. There was no major event or any big drama, it was just an extra hour filled with a bunch of random plots.

The predominant one I suppose was Sheree Whitfield heading to court to get child support from her ex-husband, Bob Whitfield. Though nervous and reluctant about going through with it at all, she was pretty confident in the ability of her attorney, Miss Phaedra Parks. Even when Bob -- representing himself -- pulled out a surprise contempt motion over furniture she'd allegedly stolen from him, she felt like they were going to take him down.

"I’m thinking, 'Oh no my attorney Phaedra Parks has something better for you, Boo,'" she told the cameras. But when Boo bested them (or so she thought), she wasn't feeling quite so sure.

I couldn't tell if Phaedra dropped the ball, or if Sheree just didn't make up her mind soon enough about what she wanted to do (I believe it was the latter), but I do know that whole attorney-client relationship is headed for some major trouble. There were already problems with Sheree paying, and now she's critiquing Phaedra's performance. I'll be surprised if their friendship is still standing when the case concludes.

I understand the reason Sheree is going after Bob for child support and don't believe he should just be allowed to walk away from his responsibilities no matter what. Him running out of the courthouse sticking out his tongue like a 2-year-old was a really sad statement as to who they're dealing with here. In fact, if he goes to jail, he deserves it. But damn it's hard to feel sorry for Sheree when she pulls up in a brand new Porsche, drips in designer duds, and is building the monstrosity of a house she refers to as Chateau Sheree.

It will be interesting to see what other tricks Bob has up his sleeves, and how Phaedra is able to handle them.

Other than that, let's see ... there was Kandi Burruss testing sex toys in a restaurant. Kandi doesn't know shy when it comes to sex. After graphically describing her favorite sex position on her show "Kandi Koated Nights," she then met with a rep from the company she's partnering with on her own line of sex toys. Right there on the table of the crowded restaurant, she let them vibrate around, then she started testing them on her nose. It was classy.

There also was Kim Zolciak bringing home little Kroy Jagger. It was sweet, and he's cute; her creepy dad is not. But really, not much happened there either -- Sweetie washing her wigs really doesn't merit extra (if any) airtime. So yeah, I don't get why we were gifted this extra episode tonight. I'm kind of disappointed there wasn't some big surprise reason, and overall it was kind of a letdown.

What did you think of this bonus episode of The Real Housewives of Atlanta? Do you think Sheree and Phaedra's friendship will make it through this court case?
