6 Most Exciting 'Glee' Moments to Look Forward to in 2012 (SPOILERS)

glee castAfter next week's "Extraordinary Merry Christmas" episode, we're going to have to say goodbye to Glee until it returns on January 17. That's more than a month without our favorite dueling songbird crews from McKinley High, and I don't know about you, but I'm going to need at least a teaser or spoiler or two in the meantime. Because you know they're going to leave us with a cliffhanger, and we're going to be chomping at the bit, wondering exactly what is going down in Lima come the new year!

Thankfully, Gleeks can breathe a sigh of relief, because there has been quite a bit of leakage out there on the web. Various photos, sound bytes, and even confirmation of certain, AMAZING tributes! Here, six major Glee storylines and songs we have to hotly anticipate in 2012 ... (It should go without saying that you shouldn't read on if you'd rather remain clueless!)

  1. "Summer Lovin'" - Summer break may be a long ways off, but the Glee cast is already getting into the spirit by recreating the Grease classic. Sneak-peek pics of the kids shooting the scene at Venice High School -- where the film was actually shot back in the late '70s! -- are now floating around. Looks like they've got Sam cast as Danny Zuko ... which means Mercedes is Sandy? Cuz those two did have a summer romance! There's also speculation that Kurt is the male Sandy. Hrrmm ... guess we'll have to wait to find out more about who's who on the girl's side. Either way, so psyched for this!
  2. "Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough" -- Enough of Michael Jackson, that is. Sure, we got the Jackson 5/Janet/"Man in the Mirror" preview at sectionals, but there's much more where that came from since the Jackson family has given the green light to the cast to do a special tribute episode surrounding the King of Pop. We can actually mark this one on our calendars -- January 24, people! Be there, or beat it!
  3. "Coming Out of the Dark" - Dianna Agron recently talked about Quinn staying on the right track, "finding the light at the end of the tunnel." Thank goodness, because I was getting sick of Evil Quinn! She'll also be will be doing a “really exciting” song she “never thought [she'd] be singing." I wonder what it could be?!
  4. "Give Me Everything" - You may have already heard that Santana's mom will be played by none other than Miami Sound Machine Queen Gloria Estefan. Well, now, Entertainment Weekly is reporting that her big bro may be portrayed by rapper Pitbull! Either way, there's definitely going to be a "giant family musical number" in the Estefan episode. Oh yeah, and Ricky Martin is going to be in another episode! Sounds like a helluva fiesta!
  5. "Father Figure" - Guess who else we get to meet in the second half of season 3? Rachel's gay dads!!! Yup, the show is currently casting her famous fathers. So fun, can't wait for that!
  6. "Lovesong" - Lea Michele recently chatted about what we can expect from Finchel. She spilled, "I had to sing a song to [Cory Monteith] the other day and he was just sitting in a chair and I had to hold his hand and look him in the eyes ... and I was more nervous doing that than when we had to fake having sex! It was really intimate, and I appreciate their progression and their maturity. We're not chasing each other around the piano cat-and-mouse-style anymore ... There is some big, big stuff coming up between them." Oooh ... these two are my fave couple by far, so can't wait for this!

What are you most looking forward to in the second half of the season?
