Kim Kardashian May Have Been the Real Victim

Kim KardashianThough much of the world has blasted Kim Kardashian for daring to leave poor Kris Humphries in the dust of her shameless, money-hungry climb to fame, new reports say Kim may not be the one to blame. In fact, if reports are true, then I'd say 72 days was too long to stay married to the "Husband From Hell."

The claims are made this week in Us Weekly, and they're pretty scathing. From trashing her in front of other people to even calling her a "fat ass," Humphries was allegedly ruthless

A source told the magazine, "He belittled her in front of people. He'd call her stupid. It was truly sickening." He was also reportedly controlling -- out partying all the time on one hand, then telling her "she was acting like too much of a wife and 'get over it.'"

Wow, what an (alleged) ass. No one should be treated like that, and those are some pretty big warning signs early on in a relationship. It's likely someone with an attitude and behavior like that would only get worse as the relationship went on. So good for her for getting out when she did.

The question, however, is IF all this is true, then why didn't she get out sooner? Why in the hell did she marry him in the first place? There was clearly no chemistry between them, so it's not like she was too lovestruck to see the red flags. She certainly doesn't need any money from him, and even if she was looking to marry someone just for the publicity, why wouldn't she choose someone who was at least nice? There had to have been signs of this behavior before they exchanged rings.

I don't know, it's not adding up for me. I have to wonder if this isn't just the Kardashian PR machine at work. It's not that I can't see Kris acting in this manner -- from what we saw on Keeping Up With the Kardashians, he really wasn't that nice. It just doesn't make sense that Kim would stay as long as she did with him ... even if it was only 72 days.

What do you think of these reports that Kris Humphries was the husband from hell?
