'The Real Housewives of D.C.' Recap: The Salahis Are Shunned by Everyone

The SalahisIt was a bit uncomfortable to watch The Real Housewives of D.C. tonight on the heels of news that Bravo has fired Michaele and Tareq Salahi from the show.

I almost felt sorry for them ... or at least her.

Earlier today PopEater reported Bravo is done with the duo and quoted sources who basically said Michaele and Tareq ruined the show.

"At this point, they are an embarrassment to the 'Housewife' franchise," one fellow Bravo housewife told PopEater. "They are loose cannons. Now, Michaele has revealed she has multiple sclerosis; next she'll be announcing she is pregnant with triplets to get attention."

And Bravo sounds downright irritated by them, particularly because the Salahis keep saying Bravo won't let them talk about the White House infiltration incident. Bravo says they couldn't care less if they do -- and that the Salahis know it.

"Bravo [has] consistently and repeatedly stated to the Salahis and their representatives that they were free to speak to press, law enforcement, Congress, and anyone else about attending the State Dinner. Indeed, they have given multiple press interviews on that very subject."

And that was the sound of a door slamming shut, firmly.

Even Tim Gunn of Project Runway took to bashing The Salahis on Access Hollowood Today.

"I don’t mind if the Salahis hear this -- I believe that they are sociopaths. They believe their own lies. When you’re dealing with a sociopath, you can’t reason. You can’t deal with logic .... They do believe their own lies in my view.”

If only Lynda Erkiletian could burn some sage and clear their energy from the show.

So back to this week's show ...

The Salahis enlisted Stacie Scott Turner as their real estate agent to find them a house that can regularly host parties of 200 to 250 people. Their budget was anything up to $8 million ... or so they said.

Stacie kept asking them for proof that they were eligible for such a purchase, and they never produced it.

And now they're not even going to have Bravo income any longer!

Stacie delved into Tareq's past with his mother and the whole drama over Oasis Winery, which we saw played out in the final minutes of the show as his mother called the police on him ... again.

The only other real topic of interest tonight was the closet of Mary Schmidt Amons (who also did some Salahi bashing this week, but not well enough to quote).

To prevent her daughter Lolly from stealing her clothes, she has -- at the suggestion of her therapist -- put a lock on it. Not just any lock, but a biometric lock that only opens with Mary's fingerprint.

The thought that you would have to employ such extreme measures to prevent theft from your own child tells me you have some extreme parenting problems.

But Mary's biggest problem? Keeping the door to her closet CLOSED, because the lock, of course, doesn't work if you don't shut the door.

"It's frankly a pain to keep that door closed," Mary whines to her husband.

Last week Hos Hos were her biggest problem, this week it's closing closet doors.

Poor Mary!

Seriously Bravo, since you're cleaning house, why don't you do a clean sweep and start over in D.C.? It's such a great city, I'm sure you could find a batch of new and improved Housewives for us to watch.

Are you glad to see the Salahis leaving The Real Housewives of D.C.?
