Jimmy Kimmel Interviews 'Lost' Cast and Producers ... But Alternative Endings Are the Best Part

The Lost finale was a heart-pounding, edge-of-your-seat, emotional rollercoaster ride; but the Jimmy Kimmel "Aloha to Lost" after show? Not so much. I had high hopes for a decent after special, but honestly, I wish I'd gone to bed instead.

Perhaps, the lackluster show was due to the fact that there were far too many guest stars -- including Matthew Fox, Michael Emerson, Terry O'Quinn, Naveen Andrews, Emile deRavin, Daniel Dae Kim, Jeremy Davies, Harold Perrineau, Nestor Carbonell, and Alan Dale as well as producers Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse -- and it's hard to have good conversation with such a large crowd.

Or, maybe I was upset because some of my favorite cast members weren't there: Josh Holloway, Evangeline Lilly, Elizabeth Mitchell, Yunjin Kim, and Jorge Garcia (although Josh, Evangeline, and Jorge made appearances in the skits).

Or, perhaps I was simply drained and exhausted from having watched four and a half hours of Lost prior to the after special. Enough already!

Whatever the reason, the show was pretty boring and besides a few brief comments at the beginning with a very overwhelmed Fox, Kimmel didn't address in depth what all Lost fans are dying to discuss: What happened and how should we interpret the ending?

The one part of the after show that was well done? The three alternative endings, which I found hilarious:

  • Sayid gets voted off the island Survivor-style (complete with a cameo by Jeff Probst).
  • The Lost cast in a diner (with Kimmel as the waitress) spoofing the classic Sopranos ending.
  • Bob Newhart in bed saying to Evangeline Lilly, "You won't believe the dream I just had."

Oh, and the video montage of tender kissing scenes in Lost interspersed with fight scenes (of which there are way more) was pretty good, too. And was that really Marilyn Manson?

What did you think of the Jimmy Kimmel Lost after show?
