There are tons of films expected to hit theaters this year that will likely turn heads ... and this one is sadly a real-life tragedy that shocked the world. The first look at The Haunting of Sharon Tate is here, and it's hard to watch knowing what Hilary Duff's fate will be -- pregnant no less.
  • Hilary plays Sharon Tate, a 26-year-old actress who was stabbed to death by members of the Manson Family while 8-1/2 months pregnant.

Sharon, who was married to Roman Polanski at the time, was just two weeks away from giving birth when members of Charles Manson's "family" murdered her and four others inside her home on August 9, 1969. The mom-to-be was found with a cord around her neck and signs she was "stabbed or shot" to death.

  • Sharon Tate's murder was gruesome, which makes a movie about the tragedy truly terrifying.

Unlike other horror movies -- where we can scream at a killer or supernatural entity before saying "that was good" and going about our day -- this really happened.

Sharon Tate was slaughtered while pregnant ... and we don't know if we have the stomach to see that.

  • Welp, a number of Hilary's fans are here for it ... though some are a bit creeped out.

Question: Seeing as Hilary Duff gave birth to her second child late last year, was she actually pregnant during filming -- 'cause if so ... wow.

    We couldn't do it.

  • Others aren't interested in seeing The Haunting of Sharon Tate because it's a horrifying story that doesn't need to be relived.

A number of comments are tired of Hollywood remaking stories like this -- specifically about the Manson murders. Actress Margot Robbie will take on the role of Sharon Tate in the upcoming Quentin Tarantino flick, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. (The film also stars Leonardo DiCaprio and Brad Pitt.)

  • Yeah ... we don't know about this one.

The Haunting of Sharon Tate hits theaters on April 5.

Yup, we're definitely not watching this one -- assuming we do -- in the dark. We need daylight, some friends, and a pillow to scream in.
