Although Tori Hart is 18 years old, that doesn't mean she's out of diapers -- by choice. This young woman from Oregon happens to prefer Pampers instead of panties and is also more comfortable rocking onesies while sleeping in a crib. From throwing temper tantrums to sucking on her beloved pacifier, Hart loves her unconventional lifestyle and acting out her childhood fantasies.

ABDLs is the term for people who enjoy wearing diapers, as well as those who role play as adult babies. Although some get sexual pleasure out of it, Hart simply takes comfort in getting to be a baby again. "It allows me to reclaim my childhood," she told the DailyMail. "I speak in my 'baby voice' and if I'm upset I will cry or have a temper tantrum. I also crawl and roll."

During her childhood, Hart was sexually abused and now she wants the life of a kid that she never had.-placeholder

During her childhood, Hart was sexually abused and now she wants the life of a kid that she never had.

Hart first found out about the community through a friend and has found becoming an ABDL to be healing. "When I am in that head space I don't do anything sexual. It definitely can be a sexual thing but I think of it as a way of expressing myself," she said. "It makes me feel like I get to go through my childhood again and I get to redo everything I didn't get to do the first time around."

One of Hart's favorite parts is wearing the diapers.

"It is very soothing and comforting. You feel very snug and like you are completely warm, content and happy. I forget about everything else in the world," she said. "I do go to the bathroom in them, but only number one. There are some people who do more but that's not for me. I don't like that part of it -- it just feels like too much."

She's also become attached to her pacifier.-placeholder

She's also become attached to her pacifier.

Since discovering this new way of life, Hart estimates that she's spent a few hundred dollars on gear. "I use my bottle and eat chicken nuggets shaped like dinosaurs," she said. "I also go to bed every night with a pacifier and it helps me to sleep because I have insomnia. One night I went to a friends' house and I couldn't sleep without it."

While Hart says her interest in role playing isn't sexual, she does have a "babysitter."-placeholder

While Hart says her interest in role playing isn't sexual, she does have a "babysitter."

A "babysitter" or "parent" is basically Hart's version of boyfriends, and their role is to take care of her. "The whole idea is submitting yourself to somebody and giving them the power to be in charge of your well-being," she told the Daily Mail.

"It has made me stronger, more confident and happier," she said.-placeholder

One of the advantages of her role playing is that Hart is completely out of control when she's with a parent. "The whole idea is submitting yourself to somebody and giving them the power to be in charge of your well-being," she said. "If I am with a partner I ask them, 'Can I do this?' or 'Can I wear this today?'"

And it's done wonders for her depression.

"I was diagnosed with anxiety and depression around four years ago and I used to take different medications but nothing was helping. I felt like a zombie," she said. "Then I found the community and the people I love and the thing I love to do. I ended up giving up all the meds."

Hart still lives at home and her family has been supportive.

"I was worried at the beginning about what people would think. There are a lot of misconceptions and the biggest is that it is pedophilia," she said. "One time my mom found a diaper so we talked about it. She said, 'That's fine, just make sure you clean up after yourself.'"

But as far as those who think her lifestyle is weird, Hart couldn't care less.-placeholder

But as far as those who think her lifestyle is weird, Hart couldn't care less.

"People say it is weird and gross and that it is not right. A lot of people judge and assume the worst. Despite the stereotypes and the stigma that we are creepy pedophiles, we are not. If you get to know us, we are nice, normal people," she said. "If you still don't like or accept it, that is fine. I'm just here living my life and doing what I love. I don't deserve hate."
