Celebrate Potty Victories with Peanut Butter and Chocolate Bites

Life gets real, real fast when you have boys. It has been amazing how much they laugh over necessary body functions and noises! I’m wondering if we are almost finished with the sweet rewards when bathroom duty is accomplished. Will phone calls to grandparents for congratulatory bathroom announcements soon be a thing of the past? I’m hopeful my little ones are understanding that they don’t need to discuss their bathroom efforts when we go to church. But I do think we are entering into a new era in our family and I am so excited: our youngest is finally out of diapers and into Pull-Ups® Training Pants!

Having three boys, we have tried all sorts of diaper-to-bathroom tactics, but the Pull-Ups® Potty Partnership offers a whole new way to potty train based on your child’s unique personality. To learn your child’s potty personality, Pull-Ups.com also has a potty training personality quiz I wish I’d seen way back with our first son. It’s designed to help parents find out their child’s potty personality and then it offers advice to help you partner with your child for the most effective potty training experience.

We’re using Pull-Ups® Training Pants for Shay now and they’re a great help. Since they look more like underwear and he can slide them on and off himself, Shay feels like he is one of the big boys now. I’ve got to say, it is sweet to see him feeling so proud of himself.

There are three variations of Pull-Ups® Training Pants: Pull-Ups® Learning Designs Training Pants, Pull-Ups® Cool & Learn® Training Pants and Pull-Ups® Night*Time Training Pants.

Shay has always noticed and loved the designs on his diapers, so the Learning Designs Training Pants are great for him. Also, the designs fade when wet, so Shay can see the difference between wet and dry. The Cool & Learn Training Pants give kids a brief cooling sensation when they’re wet to help you teach them the signs of when they need to go. And I love the extra absorbency of the Night Time Training Pants—sure helps cut down on laundry!

If you have little ones still in diapers, check out the fun quiz at Pull-Ups.com. It offers some great tips. And you can find Pull-Ups Training Pants now at most local retailers.

And—if you are in need of a little extra reward to celebrate those bathroom victories, Shay and I recommend Peanut Butter and Chocolate Bites.

  • 2 cups quick cook oats
  • 1 cup crunchy peanut butter
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/2 cup mini baking candies (from the baking, not the candy, aisle)

Mix oats, peanut butter and honey until well combined.  Stir in chocolate candies.  The mixture will be slightly crumbly at first but when you start rolling the balls together, they will stick.  If they are too crumbly, add more honey.  Roll the mixture into mini balls (about half the size of regular energy bites).  Store in air tight container in the refrigerator.  Try to save some for the kids!

To find out your child’s potty personality, take the personality quiz at Pull-Ups.com, and get tools and advice to help you and your child partner together throughout the potty training journey.
