Comedian Rob Schneider Spouts Off About Vaccines & It's No Joke (VIDEO)

rob schneiderWanna start a fight? Just head to the waiting room of your nearest pediatrician's office and shout one of the following statements: "Vaccines are totally to blame for autism!" or "Vaccines have absolutely nothing to do with autism!" I don't really want to get in the middle of that particular fight right now, so I'm not going to comment -- much -- on comedian Rob Schneider's personal opinion (basically that vaccines are totally to blame for autism!). But I will comment on Schneider's opinion of the new California state law which would require parents to get a doctor's signature in order to prevent their child from receiving vaccinations

First I should probably tell you what his opinion is, though.

Said Schneider of the law:

"You can't make people do procedures that they don't want. The parents have to be the ones who make the decisions for what's best for our kids."

Hear, hear! Exactly. As a mom, I couldn't agree with Schneider on this particular talking point more wholeheartedly. The fact that I don't want the government deciding what's best for my kids has nothing to do with whether or not I agree with their stance on vaccine safety and/or the origins of autism. It has to do with free will and personal choice.

I realize that Schneider is a comedian, not a pediatrician or even a politician and that most of the people who disagree will use his profession against him: What does he know?

Well, what do any of us know? Except what's best for our children, that is. (We hope we know that much, anyway.)

Do you agree that parents should be the ones to decide what's best for their kids, not the government?
