Beleduc Lacing Tree

beleduc moringa lacing treeThe Beleduc Moringa Lacing Tree looks like my kind of toy. It's made of Baltic birch and is dyed with non-toxic, water-based dyes from Europe.

It's also supposed to be good for developing creative and fine motor skills (writing, dressing, tying shoes), which is great for toddlers.

My daughter will like it too: It comes with 36 pieces that will keep her busy -- she can lace leaves and birds, animals, bugs, and fruit to the tree, and creative a different "work of art" every time. When she tires of it, she can stash the pieces all over the house, in my car, and who knows where else. But that's par for the course.

The tree comes with 2 birds, 1 fox, 1 squirrel, 1 bush, 3 apples, 4 butterflies, 1 bird's nest, 20 leaves, and 2 laces.

A little background: Native to India, the Moringa tree is also known as the Horseradish Tree, and has a pungent and edible root. It grows to be about 25 feet tall, and nearly all of its parts are edible and have high nutritional or medicinal value.
