Hey, that's George Washington!

Toddlers might not understand the concept of a president yet, but here's a cute song you can sing with them to get them started on American history. At the very least, your tot will learn about nickels and pennies—and the people on them.

Do You Know (sing to the tune of Mary Had a Little Lamb)

Do you know who's on the penny?

On the penny? On the penny?

Do you know who's on the penny?

Abraham Lincoln.

Do you know who's on the quarter?

On the quarter? On the quarter?

Do you know who's on the quarter?

George Washington.

As you sing the verse about the penny, have your toddler pick out a penny from a group of coins.  When you say Lincoln's name, point to him on the penny. Do the same for George Washington with a quarter.

Repeat as many times as desired.

Are you doing anything to teach your toddler about President's Day?
