You never realize how much you use certain words or phrases until your toddler starts talking up a storm and repeats every little thing you say. It turns out I say "um" an awful lot, and, um, apparently I'm always tired.
My friend Ann didn't realize how much she said, "Oh, crap," until her in-laws came to visit and started giving her the hairy eyeball whenever her son said it—which seemed be every chance he got that particular weekend. "Every time I heard him say it, I wanted to say, 'Oh f*&k not again,' but instead I just thought, 'Oh, crap!'" Ann told me.
What words or phrases have you inadvertently been teaching your toddler?

My son hardly talks but he has taken up two phrases I realize I say a lot. "What's that?" and "There you go". I have been trying to break hubby of saying certain phrases around baby since he is starting to pick up on things ;-D.
We say HUH? a lot when someone calls us (me, DH and now DS all do it). The other day DS says out of no where Oh. My. God. Very not cute from a 2 year old...so DH and I are much better about "ohmygoodness" now.
I tend to say "Oh crap!" a lot...as well as "Hellloooooooooo?" lol
My two year old daughter says "Hell ya!" I don't even care, I think it's cute.
My 4 year old loves kiss which is awesome cuz she likes to rock out but unfortunately she can't understand all of the lyrics so she says only the things that are sooooo not appropriate lol. I can't help it though it is her favorite band.
Just the other day my daughter wiggled her fingers back and forth and said "man am I swollen!" I cracked up! Apparently I retain a lot of water! hee hee
m daughtr said OMG hahaha i guess i say that allot
Apparently, I'm very big on adverbs. My son and daughter both precede lots of sentences with "actually."
As a SAHM, dropping a few naughty words is patently unavoidable. My darling daughter has at various times said "Dammit!", such as , "Dammit, Mamma, where's Pandy Bear?" nice.
Others include..."Just a minute", ""What's goin' on girlfriend?" (said to my DAD), "Someone needs a diaper change" said to any one who has gas, and," I'm going to lose my mind ", oh, yes, and "Oh, Man!" she's two BTW!
I am teaching my 13 month old to say AMEN
