I love the Touch the Art series of books and so does my daughter. Each book is filled with famous paintings, but has a touch and feel aspect to it. Your child can "brush" Mona Lisa's hair or touch the shiny, white, three-dimensional pearl on the Girl with the Pearl Earring. It's a fun way to make works of art recognizable to your kid.
The possible downside: One hard-core art guy I know is against the books because he says it will encourage kids to touch paintings in museums—a big no-no.
Are you teaching your toddler about art?
