It's time for a Mom Confession -- because, let's face it, we're real mothers and sometimes it doesn't work the way the parenting books say it should.
This Week's Confession:
I don't allow junk food, fast food, or anything other than healthy food or organic food in my home, however when I am at work and away from the kids, I sometimes eat out of the snack machines. — anonymous
We all have secrets -- so thanks to this brave mom for sharing her honest thoughts, and thank you for keeping this conversation non-judgmental!

i do, we don't let our daugther now 3 to drink soda, if we can prevent it we just don't give it to her, and when we do it is just a little sip.
I don't let my kids drink soda or have a ton of sweets ect but I cheat sometimes
of course. I dont let my kids drink soda but diet coke is like crack to me. all parents do this in one way or another.. junk food.. alcohol.. cigarettes.. endless hours of tv.. ice cream.. whatever their vice is. we all know its not good for us or good for them.. the difference is we can stop them from doing it, lol.
Nothing wrong with this at all. (Well other than the fact that none of us should eat junk food but nobody's perfect.) In my opinion it's like saying "I smoke cigarettes but I don't let my kids" Pretty much a duh.
I eat junk food too. Of course I'm not going to let my kids eat half the crap I do....sometimes I'll eat a snack in random places just so my son can't see and then want what I have. LOL
Yeah...
The way I see it: this is the only time I have to make sure he eats healthy, non-junky meals. Once he's older and spends more time away:who knows what he'll eat.
I do this too.. I only wish I was raised eating healthy. They will be!
After all, you are very likely to love most of the foods you grew up with for the rest of your life. It's great disease prevention. Not bad! Plus if they don't see their role models (and peers) indulging they won't really think much about it.. Unless, that is, you make it a habit of skipping out on them and turning it into some sort of addiction like a lot of people might do..
