It's an almost-rainy Veterans Day here in Northern California (love the above photo by Punkylu78).
Is it raining where you live? Are you and your toddler stuck indoors?
Here are some fun rainy day activities for when you're stuck inside with a toddler:
- Play Indoor Hopscotch (no chalk involved!)
- Make Your Own Spider Web (no spiders involved!)
- Practice Letters & Handwriting (free customizable worksheets!)
- Make a Homemade Play Fort
- Throw a Dress-Up Photo Party (a small party: you and the kids)
- Make Edible Play Dough
- Conduct a Home Fire Drill
- Make Cool Scenes and Take Photos
- Watch Some TV : It's Not Completely Evil
- Color the Dog (just kidding!)
- Or heck, just Go Play in the Rain

We made some Turkey crafts today so fun.
Oh yeah it's raining here...blah. We played with Play-Dough and he drew some pictures. He tried to use a Sharpie marker but I thought maybe a "pencil" instead. LOL
I've done the fort thing in the living room before too, he loves that.
I hope you do not play in the rain it is a fast way to make your kids sick
Jagrus.....not completely true..... You could be as cold and wet as cold and wet can be, but unless there are germs present....not going to catch anything. Ten min. of playing in the rain (while dressed warmly) isn't going to be an 'insta cold'.
Come on, go out there and splash in the puddles!
ethans_momma is right. Playing in the rain doesn't make you sick. Being cold can lower your immune system, making it harder to fight off germs you're exposed to right then, but playing in the rain doesn't automatically equal illness. That's an old wives' tale.
We live in Washington State... of course it's raining here.
I have to admit... today me and my son played in the rain and he had a blast. lol he would stand under the rain gutters and the rain would pour down :) it was great. Then we came in and took a nice warm bubble bath. Gotta love rainy days!
a few months ago it was raining after dinner and all 4 of us [my husband, myself and 2 toddlers] went outside in the downpour and just splashed around in the puddles. it was one of the most fun times we've had as a family!
