Loved this post over on MomLogic: The 10 Stages of Toddlerhood in Words.
This list sounds about right to me. Pretty sure #6 and #9 are going to be top tens in Leo's language favorites for awhile. LOL.
I'm wondering how your toddler's language matches up to their list.
What stage of language is your toddler at? Or maybe language has been a challenge — large or small — for your tot. Tell us about it.

We haven't hit "Why" and "Don't" yet. But Oh, how I loved (sarcasm here) the "no" phase. I still deal with it on occasion. And "mine" has been another lovely recent one.
My son actually did start with mom or as he put it mum :)
But he is also saying, What, Dada, No, Love you (on occasion), and a few others that I can't quite understand.
We are definately in the Why stage with the twins. Everything is why...why this...why that. It is hard to come up with answers. :) My youngest is in the No stage.....she is one stubborn kid.
We are at 4, 5, and 6 right now. Lately, we've been hearing "don't say that!" My 2 year old answers everything by saying "Don't say that!" We got past the "gimmie" stage and now when he wants his brother to give him what he has, he says "Share with me brother." And my 8 year old has hit the "Why?" stage.
numbers 4,6,7&9 my kids stuck with for way to long LOL!
My son will be two in January...
#1 doesn't apply, as it's never been taught to him
He hasn't gotten #5 Gimme or #7 Why, but he has more than mastered the rest.
My son will be 1 next week and he says " no, ow, and hi" among many other things. He is quite the chatterbox. I think mom, no no no, and Elmo are his most used words though!
Funny! I still cringe when I hear 'Why?' from my toddler... I can remember waiting for my oldest to outgrow that stage.... and damnit, he's still doing it and he's seven and a half! My middle child's favourite mood was defiant and her favourite word was 'No!'- my dad used to call her Dr No as a nickname. And my youngest is reasonably good natured, but we do hear "Ow!" as a negotiating tactic a lot.
