Dolls, action figures, learning toys, building toys, cars and trucks, video games, board games, dollhouses, books, stuffed animals, imagination games, and more — there are a gazillion types of cool kid toys these days. However, many kids tend to cling to one or two favorite kinds.
What are your kids' favorite types of toys?
My two boys almost exclusively play with interlocking blocks, animal figurines, and action figures. There is also, much to my dismay, a beloved sword or two around here.
What type of toy is your toddler's favorite? And what types are on his or her holiday wish list?

I would have to say action figures, little people, stuff like that. Though lately they have been playing legos together a lot...and quietly too!!! Dress up and cooking in their kitchen is huge too!
My son always liked action figures and building toys (Kids K'nex rock!!!) My daughters prefer figurines (Littlest Pet Shop is popular at my house) and stuffed animals.
Elmo is big in my house right now. Every time we went to the store he would look at the Elmo microwave. So that was what I put on his list :).
My 3yo's two favorite things are her dollhouse and her wooden blocks. She plays with both equally. She has loved stacking blocks since she was a baby (she had those peek-a-boo blocks) or at least she enjoyed knocking down the towers her brother and sisters made. As she got older she started making her own towers with anything she could stack so we got the bucket of wooden blocks for her. She plays with them all the time so we're going to get her more.
My 2 year old loves TRUCKS, TRUCKS, AND MORE TRUCKS lol. He's actually playing with his trash truck right now. He never gets bored of them.
My son loves playing with legos, mega bloks, little people, match box cars, tonka trucks and tonka wheel cruising pals.
My son loves mega blocks, trucks, cars, books, and balls. He's got a new found love for play tents, so it looks like Santa will be bringing him one of those this year :)
My 3 yr old son his cars my 2yr old daughter her dora doll
Balls, books, little people, my cell phone, and anything ANYTHING Elmo. I think that red fuzzy thing is Ember's first love.
my 3yo has about a zillion matchbox cars! ok maybe only 20 but when those 20 are all over the place it seems alot more. Thats all he plays with these days. we got him a racetrack for his 3rd bday, and he does play with it occasionally, but the loveseat is his domain. if you sit on it or try to move his cars he will flip out! It gets old, but he will sit quietly for hours playing cars. They talk, get in arguments, share, race. He has a pretty good imagination with those cars I think lol When we go to the toy section, thats all he ever asks for. Stocking stuffers!
