It's one thing to play dress up in mama's clothes and shoes, but what about toddlers actually wearing high heels?
Lil Sugar has pictures of Suri Cruise, 3, strolling around town with mom Katie Holmes, donning a pair of shimmery high-heeled shoes.
Holmes has been dressing Suri in expensive designer wear since she was born, but I have to wonder...heels for a toddler??
What are your thoughts on toddlers wearing heels?

Toddlers wearing shoes is dangerous enough! (How many times have you put shoes on your well established walker, only to see them fall 3 times in 60 seconds?) I wouldn't think adding any new obstacles is a good idea.
I cant see shoes like this being safe or good for the development of the feet. I could see maybe shoes like this for a special event like a wedding if the kid was part of the wedding party. but not for just strolling around town.
JMO but I think that would be a little dangerous for a child. They like to run, what if they twist their ankle? And I agree with evythecute, that can't be good for feet that are still developing.
Absolutely not. Until they're approaching two or so, they should be wearing soft soled shoes only, and then there's a learning curve to even getting into hard soled shoes, much less heels. That's ridiculous.
An occasional very small heel on a three or four year old? Not a big deal. On a regular occasion, I'd say not a good idea. My daughter is three and a half and she has a pair of cowboy boots that have short heels and I don't think they're great for playing all day, but if she wanted to wear them to the store, I wouldn't object.
Short Heels for special occasions on BIG little girls (like 4-5). Younger....no way. Just a day out- nuh-uh.
I know plenty of grown women who have injured themselves while wearing heels...I see no GOOD reason why a child under four or five ever should except while playing dress up in moms. And then, of course, child should be watched to make sure that injury does not ensue...
i say no heels until like 8 at least, it is ok if they are playing dress up and they are inside the house but to go out and take a stroll, no way. I been to stores where the girl shoes have heels already and they are for small girls, talk about advertising for litlle kid so they can feel older
haha my SON likes to wear mine lol. :) he actually walks him better then I do lol. Of course i won't let him leave the room with them on hehe
Uh, no. I wear heels a lot myself and I still trip quite a lot and I've been walking for quite decades longer than my daughter.
well besides the normal dress up play I do not think toddlers should wear high heels. For one it is dangerous but I also do not think it can be good for foot development. I do not even think high heels are really great for adult women as they are not supportive for your feet so no way should a toddler be strolling around town with them
