With Toddlers, Every Day Is Labor Day

Cynthia Dermody

I always love long holiday weekends, but as for many moms and homeowners especially, Labor Day Weekend is truly a Weekend of Labor. Over the next three days my husband and I will be attempting to paint the outside of our fixer-upper of a house at the same time we are constructing a deck. The leaky faucet needs my attention and the garden is in desperate need of a weeding marathon.

I must squeeze all these things in while trying to watch and occupy my 6 year old and 4 year old -- without TV. We cut that off now that school is starting up again.

Wish me luck, I'll need it.

How do you occupy your toddlers while attempting to get some things done around the house?

Happy LDW!
