Mom Confessions: I Don't Shield My Kids' Eyes from Nudity

mom confessions It's time for a Mom Confession — because, let's face it, we're real mothers and sometimes it doesn't work the way the parenting books say it should.

This Week's Confession:

I don't shield my kids' eyes from nudity.

I don't think there's anything wrong with nudity, and I don't shield my toddler's eyes from nudity. With all the things wrong in the world and the things you can find on cable television, nudity is not one I'm worried about. I don't flaunt nudity all about, but if my toddler happens upon it, I don't hide my own nudity, nudity on TV or movies, or nudity in books or art. We even have a beautiful nude painting in our living room. Violence, now that's a separate issue for me. -- anonymous

sex scene i'll shield for sure. ..he's not even 2 yet but still..i don't even want to see it on tv lol :)

i sometimes run nude around my kids and if the see a naked body my dd simply states the fact that the girl boobs are either bigger or smaller than mine i dont go out and show her sex sence from a movies and i sensor her that way if it get to much into detail than i turn it off. but as far as takeing a shower with my dd or changing my clothes i dont hide it form then they walk in either in the bed room or bathroom they have already caught a eyeful covering up would teach them to be embarressed about their body and i dont want that

We don't let dd see daddy nude, but she showers with me. Sexual scenes in movies, I would try to distract her till it was over, or change the channel. People changing clothes, no big deal.

OMG funny story. I was bra shopping the other day with my 21 month old dd, and we were in the dressing room. Well, I went to try one on and she starts yelling Booboos booboos. (That's what she calls boobies.) I know the other shoppers had to hear her. I'm never bra shopping with her again. lol!

I don't allow my boys to watch shows that are above PG. So sexual content in movies or shows are no prob. My kids have seen me and daddy nude and we tell them they have penises. But no sexual content is shown ever! When they become old enough and have questions about sex. Then my hubby and I have decided to have an open and educational talk with them. Showing educational videos and such. I will say that I don't ever want them to be ashamed of their bodies. It's those who are uneducated about sex that become the most curious....
