Tip #10: Ask your tot to throw the diapers away.
The way I potty trained my little girl was I made HER throw all of her diapers away. I put her in big girl panties and gave her something to drink constantly. When she pee-peed on herself, I told her it was nasty and icky and by the end of the night she was going to the potty.
Within three days she was going all by herself and doing ALL of her business on the big girl potty. She never used a training potty, either.

this is the same potty training method we did with our 2 yr old. except it took way longer than 3 days.
I prefer to start out a little (make that a lot) slower. To go from just going in their diaper to suddenly having to go to the potty EVERY time, cold turkey, is a huge challenge for someone so young. No wonder so many have trouble.
I really did not have trouble potty training my son because we waited till he was ready. He came to us and told us he was ready. We are fully trained in 3 weeks with no accidents from week 2 on. I did get rid of diapers but I had pull-ups over underwear to help with messes.
We threw out our diapers, put her in underwear and sat her on the potty every 30 mins.... she's been accident free since the 3rd day... its now 2 weeks later and still NO accidents!!
What did you do at night? --We did away will pullups during the day and after a few days dd was taking herself potty and staying dry all day--but after a couple weeks has regressed and is now having accidents again--so its back to square one.
my kids were fully trained with EC by 12 months (full time)... but i think actually throwing out the diapers is a waste ... and also a bit abrupt, as another mom mentioned...
i think i should just do that for night training, i can't seem to get her out of them at all.
